The
Complete Range of Sedation
Dentistry Options
We are a compassionate dental practice, and we understand that
treatments create much anxiety for some patients. We can help
you to relieve your fears and make visits to the dentists easy
with conscious sedation dentistry.
We are one of the few offices in the state that has the training
and qualifications to utilize both oral and IV sedation for our
patients. Sometimes only lighter sedation is needed, so we use
nitrous oxide or laughing gas.
With oral conscious sedation, you take a pill one hour before
your treatment time. Before treatment begins, you will gradually
reach a very calm state but still be conscious to respond to
questions from the doctor. Your vital signs are monitored while
the work is being performed. After your procedure is completed,
you will have someone drive you home. In only an hour, you are
back to normal.
With
IV sedation, you have the highest level of sedation in the
shortest amount of time to take effect. The advantage over
taking a pill is that the sedation level can be completely
controlled, as the medication is given directly into the
bloodstream. This approach is very safe and accurate. You will
not remember the procedure and time goes by quickly – an hour in
the chair will seem like two minutes. IV sedation can be used
for longer appointments for more extensive work, as well as
relieving the anxieties of fearful patients.
Some patients have even greater fear of being “put under.” You
are not completely “knocked out” as for surgery. The sedation
level is enough to forget the procedure but still have control
of your perception of what is happening around you. It releases
any stress and lets you feel comfortable while the work is being
performed.

The Clear Choice in Orthodontics
If
you have always wanted straight teeth but have been unwilling to
commit to years of procedures, let us introduce a small miracle
to you. With the innovative invisible aligners of Invisalign™
and ClearCorrect™, you can have straight teeth in only 9 - 15
months! They correct overbite, underbite, crossbite, gapped
teeth, and overcrowding.
We
use a state-of-the-art 3-D computer-imaging technology to
outline an entire treatment plan. It designs sets of aligners
that will be changed every two weeks as progress is made. With
each new aligner, your teeth are gently moved into the desired
position. The length of time of treatment depends on your
personal goals and needs. And you spend less time in the dental
chair, with evaluations only every one to two months.
There are advantages to the Invisalign and ClearCorrect systems.
They are nearly invisible, so no one will know you are
straightening your teeth. Your teeth maintain a natural look
instead of a metallic one. This lets you maintain your
confidence at work or in social settings.
They fit over your teeth and are not bonded to your teeth, so
they are very comfortable to wear. And amazingly, you can eat
and drink whatever you like during treatment, as they are
removable and you can properly and thoroughly clean your teeth.

New
Laser Treatment for Gum Disease
Have you been told you need traditional gum surgery? Our
practice uses PerioLase™ MVP-7 laser technology for the
non-surgical treatment of gum disease, with results that might
have been considered miraculous not too many years ago. This
allows most of our patients to avoid the need for gum surgery.
The procedure is minimal and patient friendly and the results
have been overwhelmingly positive. Eighty percent of adults have
some form of gum disease. Whether your gum disease is mild, or
whether you are a candidate for gum surgery, treating gum
disease as early as possible is part of your best plan for
maintaining your oral health as well as your physical health.
And if your case is more advanced, our office is licensed to
practice the Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure™, a
minimally invasive method of treating gum disease. That means
you can have your periodontal disease treated successfully
without scalpels, sutures or pain.
Many of us have heard about or experienced the remarkable
results from laser treatments for vision correction and other
medical procedures. Now that same technology is revolutionizing
dentistry. With LANAP, you won’t have exposed, sensitive roots,
and recovery is generally faster and more comfortable than
traditional gum surgery – most of our patients need only
over-the-counter medicine afterwards. Gum disease has been
implicated in other medical conditions from heart attacks to
premature births. If you’ve been told you need gum surgery, but
have been putting it off, let us show you how easy your
treatment can be.
